Teaching character education in the classroom is a challenge in today's
diverse society. In Character Counts! Promoting Character Education:
Readers Theatre scripts have been developed to encourage the students
to make positive decisions. Each script comes with a set of questions
that can be presented before and again after the script has been read.
These questions guide the students thinking as they prepare to read
or hear the script.
Some of the scripts are from actual events in the lives of young people
who have made wise decisions when put in situations where they had to
make a choice between right or wrong. Other scripts are based on circumstances
that children may face over time.
